Palace of Fine Arts

The Palace of Fine Arts is a beauty! With a large historic architecture, it is a must visit. It is located in the Marina District of San Francisco, California. It was first constructed in 1915 to exhibit the Panama-Pacific works of art. In the late 60s and early 70s it was rebuilt. It is now available for private and corporate events, trade shows, weddings and other events which need large space.

Address: 3601 Lyon St, San Francisco, CA 94123

Parking: The Marina area has parking all around which could be hard to get at times. There is also parking behind the museum.

Pier 39

One of the most happening places in San Francisco! It is a shopping center and tourist attraction build around the Pier. Pier 39 to be precise is where all the shops, arcades, street performers, endless restaurants and many other attractions. You can even see sea lions out on the docks in the marina.

Lombard Street

This is the super famous winding street in the hilly areas of San Francisco. It has eight hairpin turns. From here you can also see phenomenal city views. You are allowed to drive down and enjoy the views. The street starts from Presidio east to the Embarcaedero. Once in the area, you will see signs for the street, you cannot miss it, specially with the amount of tourists around.

Address: Lombard Street

Alcatraz Jail

The Alcatraz Jail is a famous site, specially being used for several movie shoots. It is officially the Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary or United States Penitentiary. It used to be a maximum security federal prison on the Island, about 1.25 miles of the coast of San Francisco. It is now a tourist site and you can visit. However make sure to book weeks in advance as slots get book quickly specially for the night tour.

Address: Alcatraz Main Cell House, Pier 39 Concourse, San Francisco, CA 94133

Twin Peaks

One of my favorite spots to visit in San Francisco. Should be visited during the day and night. It has two summits, 922 foot high. Its a small hike up to the top. It has epic 360 views of the city skyline.

Address: 501 Twin Peaks Blvd, San Francisco, CA 94114

Painted Ladies (Full House Home)

If you grew up in the 80s and 90s, Full House was a very popular show. And lets not forget Fuller House which is airing now on Netflix. This is the original house and location of the houses used for the show. If you are a fan, its a cool spot to check out.

Address: 1709 Broderick St, San Francisco, CA 94115

Cable Cars

Believe it of not, the Cable Car system in San Francisco is the worlds last manually operated cable car. It is an icon to the city! As single way ticket cost $8.00, there are several locations you can get on and experience the ride. I would recommend getting on at the first stop at the bottom.

Tickets and station information here.
